Bang Bang Controller Module:
Yellow Jacket Space Program

The unexplored aspect of space is what makes it interesting. To support my ambition, I am working on the bang bang controller module for Georgia Tech’s Space program working on becoming the first collegiate branch to make a liquid fueled rocket reach space.

What is the Yellow Jacket Space Program (YJSP)?

YJSP is Georgia Tech’s collegiate rocketry team that makes it a goal of making the first collegiate liquid field rocket to reach space. They recently had a launch of Darcy I which made strides towards reaching space, matching the current top contenders for liquid fueled rocketry. Currently, the teams’ focus consists on Subscale and fullscale, 2 new rockets

What do I do on YJSP?

I am currently working on the Bang bang control module for the Subscale team. Essentially, I am coding a system to ensure pressure in two tanks of the fuel consisting of liquid oxygen and jet-a fuel (jet fuel) The ground control would be able to state a pressure for the tanks on a user-friendly GUI prior to launch, and my system would open and close valves to ensure proper pressure to the tanks from a 7000 psi nitrogen tank.
