LIDAR, IMU, and GPS Data Processing:
Marine Robotics
Autonomous boats are so cool! This competition-ready boat takes in its surroundings using LIDAR to process automated commands and complete tasks like proceeding through buoys.
What is Marine Robotics?
Marine Robotics is Georgia Tech’s, quite simply,
marine robotics team. They are ready for competition in Australia this upcoming
November. After the competition, the team will be focused on the Roboboat competition
where a smaller boat needs to complete tasks using a LIDAR system similar to our current boat.
What do I do on Marine Robotics?
Currently, I’m working with the software lead to gain a better understanding of the electrical and software system. There is a whole mini pc router setup communicating to a giant boat, and although the system is complex, I am happy to slowly start contributing to the system.
